Work to look out for…
Mandy: Queen of The Estate
Mandy: Queen of the Estate is a powerful contemporary retelling of the story of Cartimandua, Queen of the Brigantes. Set on a North East housing estate facing redevelopment, it follows Mandy, a respected community figure caught between protecting her neighbours and working with powerful outside forces promising change. As loyalties are tested and tensions rise, Mandy must navigate competing visions for the future of her community, raising questions about leadership, identity, trust and the true cost of progress.
This project is being supported by Open Door 2026 at Theatre Royal Newcastle.
The Club: A CIU Story
The premiere of The Club- A CIU Story took place at Laurel’s Whitley Bay in July 2023; and received an almost sell-out run. Look out for a touring production coming soon.
The original cast and creatives list follows:
“An affectionate tribute, steeped in atmosphere ”
“Club members are genuine and believable and clever direction keeps the cast moving around the space without distracting from the authentic action”
“Beautifully interactive, exquisitely crafted and socially conscious”
“A well written ensemble piece with an engaging cast. It deserves to tour”
Works in Progress
Though I have to remain tight-lipped, I am working on two new plays. One set in Harrogate in the 1920s and another in Sunderland in the 1990s. Watch this space for updates…
